Illustrative only. Compares personal tax on the income you leave in the corporation (stacked on top of your other income, using approximate Ontario combined rates) with the 2026 Ontario combined small business rate of about 11.7% (11.2% from 2027). Ignores incorporation costs, salary/dividend mix and personal circumstances. Tax is deferred, not eliminated, until you withdraw the money.

Artur is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Ontario) and holds a Master of Taxation from the University of Waterloo. He began his career at large international accounting firms with offices in more than 100 countries, where he developed a passion for taxation.
Years of working with medical professionals showed him how much therapists needed an accountant who understands their practice — so he created a complete package for them: business registration, bookkeeping setup, tax filings and financial statement preparation.

“We have struggled for years to find someone who could support our growing psychotherapy clinic in managing our accounting needs. This was the first experience we had where we felt listened to and given solid tangible advice and management of our financial needs. Thank you!”

“I had such a great experience working with Artur and his team! They brought clarity to what had felt like complete chaos when it came to my personal taxes. Everyone involved was kind, helpful, and professional throughout the entire process. They were efficient and thorough in preparing my return, and they also provided valuable advice for future filings along with guidance on supports I may be eligible for. I truly felt supported and well taken care of.”

“I’ve had an excellent experience working with Artur. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain things clearly in our consultation, including details that no other accountant has ever flagged for me - which really showed how much he cares about his clients. He thoroughly outlined next steps, so there was never any confusion on my end. Thus far, the process has been smoother than I expected, and I confidently recommend him!”
Mental health professionals are our specialty. We work with psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers and group practices, so we already understand insurer payments, supervision costs, sliding-scale fees and how a practice grows. We also serve clients in other industries, so feel free to ask about your business.
Yes. Everything can be handled online through secure document sharing and video calls, so we support therapists across Canada (with certain exceptions). Ontario clients can also meet us in person in Mississauga.
Your part is limited to collecting your previous returns and any other documents, such as financial statements prepared by your previous accountant. We handle the rest: from the engagement agreement through consents and authorizations to account setup, we assist you all the way.
Yes. We start with a catch-up engagement to bring prior months or years up to date, file anything outstanding, and then move you into the new plan you selected.
Choose your structure, open a separate business bank account, set up bookkeeping software, check your GST/HST position and start setting money aside for tax. Our free new-practice checklist walks through each step.
Accounting Support plans start at $300/month, self-employed therapist returns start at $350, and our Corporate Year-End Package starts at $3,000. You’ll get a fixed quote before we start.
Our plans are fixed-fee, based on your transaction volume and the services you need. If your needs change, we talk before anything changes — no surprise invoices.
Yes. Business-related accounting and tax fees are deductible expenses for your practice.
Yes. The first consultation is free for all prospective clients. Additional consultations are $250 per session, with discounts for existing clients.
Usually not for core client services. Psychologists’ services have long been exempt, and since June 2024 psychotherapy and counseling therapy services provided by qualifying regulated practitioners are exempt too. The rules depend on your profession, province and the service, so we confirm your position when we start working together. Some work — such as reports prepared mainly for legal or insurance purposes, workshops or speaking — may still be taxable, so review each revenue stream.
If all of your services are exempt, usually not. If your taxable revenue (for example from workshops or certain reports) exceeds $30,000 over four consecutive quarters, you generally must register.
Self-employed individuals must file by June 15, but any balance owing is still due by April 30. Filing late or paying late can lead to penalties and interest.
Many therapists set aside 25–35% of net income, depending on their income level and province. We’ll calculate a personal percentage for you and help you plan installments.
CRA may require installments if your net tax owing is more than $3,000 in the current year and in either of the two previous years. Installments are due March 15, June 15, September 15 and December 15.
Common deductions include office rent or a home office, clinical supervision, College and association fees, professional liability insurance, continuing education, practice software, phone and internet (business portion), marketing and accounting fees.
Incorporating can reduce the tax you pay now if you don’t need all of your income to live on, because income left in the corporation is taxed at the lower small business rate. If you spend most of what you earn, it mostly adds cost. We model both options before recommending anything. Consider using our incorporation calculator for a preliminary check.
In Ontario, psychotherapists, psychologists and social workers can generally practice through a professional corporation, subject to their College’s rules on ownership and naming. We help you check the requirements and handle registration.
It depends on your income, RRSP and CPP goals, and how much you need personally. Salary creates RRSP room and CPP contributions; dividends are simpler but don’t. Most clients use a planned mix we review each year.
Annual financial statements prepared by a Chartered Professional Accountant in accordance with CPA Ontario standards, a corporate (T2) return, payroll or dividend slips, and an annual return to the province. Our corporate package covers these.
We work in QuickBooks Online, and bookkeeping clients receive 50% off their subscription for as long as they subscribe. We can migrate you from spreadsheets or desktop software.
Yes. We reconcile payouts from common practice management and booking platforms against your bank deposits, so every session payment and insurer claim is accounted for.
It’s strongly recommended — and required in practice once you incorporate. A separate account keeps records clean, simplifies bookkeeping and makes CRA reviews much easier.
CRA generally requires you to keep business records and receipts for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to.
Yes. Documents are exchanged securely, access is limited to our team, and we follow CPA Ontario professional standards on confidentiality.
Yes. You work directly with Artur, a Chartered Professional Accountant with a Master of Taxation — no call centers or rotating staff.
Yes. With your authorization we can represent you with CRA, respond to letters and reviews, and handle the paperwork on your behalf.
Both options are available: meet us at our Mississauga office or online from anywhere in Canada.
